Uconnect Update Dodge

WHAT IS UCONNECT ® Uconnect ® is the. Check for system updates, connect to your owner's site and get all the support you need. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep. While most customers will wait to visit their dealer to upgrade the firmware of their UConnect systems, it's not required for those who have connected USB drives in their recent Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, or Dodge. However, it is complicated and somewhat time consuming. This is a little “how to” for updating UConnect firmware.

After reading up on the OTA UConnect subject on various other formats, I had learned Dodge/UConnect finally had a new patch out to correct the Sport Mode loss issue as of 7/28/17. I figured yesterday afternoon, I would finally allow the update to proceed since I was home and did not have to be anywhere for a few hours.

Didn't want to take a chance of an auto download and having issues while out and about. I unplugged the Tazer and removed all USB/SD cards to as to not chance any file corruption during the update. I'm glad to say it appears I don't have any issues with Sport Mode. Engine, paddles, traction control and transmission options are still in place. I also plugged my Tazer back in and can access Track Mode, Valet Mode and ECO Mode. Unfortunately, it appears that the Performance Pages are now missing which contain all the on board timers, HP &Torque gauge as well as some of the supplemental gauges I used to have such as AIT.

Also missing is the G meter and 'time slip'. The only timer that remains is 0-60 and braking distance. I was wondering if anyone that successfully downloaded the new update has experienced this. Also if anyone with a 2017 can chime in to confirm the newer cars still retain the items as noted above or if Dodge has removed those items from our cars. Maybe I'm just not navigating the new screen properly and just missing the PeRformance Pages App.

UCONNECT

Just want to check with smart people before dealing with the Dealership and getting the run around. The other reasons is.I'm afraid that if I start 'researching' by playing around on UConnect on a new TA or Hellcat while visiting dealerships, I might bring something home and get in big trouble. This UConnect crap is more hassle than it's worth.

The car should just have timers and stuff built into the head unit, into each car, with no need for stupid updates that screw stuff up. UConnect seems to handle things similarly as Apple does, they beta test on the customers rather than actually put the time in up front on these updates to ensure there are no problems.

Just push it out there right away and fix problems as they come up. I keep hitting Ignore on mine. I've been doing that for nearly 3 months now. I've heard that eventually it forces the update, but mine has yet to do that yet. Not sure what timeframe has to pass for that to happen.

The Copyrights Learn The Hard Way Zip 213. But I'm holding out as long as I can. I tried to post here three times, but the forum isn't working right for me. Quirky as heck. My post basically said that I don't want or need Uconnect. These tech companies come up with all this crap to make you buy something you really don't need. Most of this stuff is a major distraction in the car. Sensible people don't need Uconnect to find their car in parking lot for them.

What the H is this world coming to. People can't think for themselves anymore. I don't know why I haven't got the update request, but when I do they are going to get my answer loud and clear.

I just don't like the idea of someone messing with my car. Best Of Platinum Edition Dj Otzi Youtube here. I OWN it, let me CHOOSE what I want in it. I agree Betty.

Companies are becoming 'demand generators'. In other words, they create something that there really may not be a market for yet, market the hell out of it, tell consumers you 'need' this product or service, consumers buy into it and start using it, then it spreads, and pretty soon everyone is buying it and talking about it. Just look at the smart phones with data plans. You don't need any of that crap. But sure enough just about everyone has a smartphone with a data plan and all that crap, myself included! I'd like to see someone try to hack into my Nova to steal it or do an update haha! Not one computer or control module on that car anyway.

You still have to physically unlock the door and trunk to get in too with a real actual key. I love the new technology to an extent, but sometimes I miss the old simple stuff too. Lemme see..hmmmmmmmm.I did fine when we had a party line telephone. Did pretty good without TV in the early 50s' too! Radio was good enuff and I dint die because of a lack of technology.
